APOSTLE LARRY T. BARNETT, SR.
Apostle Larry T. Barnett, Sr. is the beloved senior pastor of the St. John Praise and Worship Center (SJPWC) in Pulaski, IL where he has been the under-shepherd since 1985. He has been in ministry since 1978. He received both his Bachelor of Science in education and his Master’s degree in administration from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. For over a decade, Apostle Barnett worked as a full-time pastor and as a full time employee in the education field. After he worked in the public school system for over half of his life (both as a classroom educator and as a school administrator), Apostle Barnett followed the leading of the Holy Spirit, and relinquished his role as building principal at Carbondale Middle School in Carbondale, IL to follow the Lord as SJPWC was transitioning into a new dimension of Kingdom work.
The Lord has given Apostle Barnett a powerful four-fold vision with global impact:
1. Completion of the facility/outreach ministry - Ministry that reaches into the continent of Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda).
2. SJPWC Preparatory Academy - A private, Christian school where the core curriculum is reading/phonics and mathematics centered.
3. Resurrection House - A 90 day post treatment center for those afflicted with addictions of any and all types.
4. Assisted Living Center - A center for the elderly where seniors will live out their later years with dignity and respect while being cared for by loving, patient, Christian staff.
In 2005, Apostle Barnett was hand selected by the founding and presiding bishop of Covenant Ministries, Dr. Ron Webb, to be the Immediate Assistant to the Bishop. Covenant Ministries is a fellowship, not a denomination, that centers on the Kingdom of God. Additionally, Apostle Barnett is a classroom instructor at the School of the Prophets in Poplar Bluff, MO. Apostle Barnett has received both his Bachelor of Science and his Master’s in Theology from the School of the Prophets. The School of the Prophets is associated with the International College of Bible Theology.
Apostle Barnett has been married to First Lady Carol Barnett since 1980. They have five children: Cala, Shaya, T. J., Sean, and Dontae. The Barnett’s make their home in the Southern Illinois area.
